Damon Dash And Rachel Roy Ink $4 Billion Deal

Hip-Hop mogul Damon Dash and his wife Rachel Roy have formed a $4 billion dollar joint venture with Jones Apparel Group Inc. to develop, market and license the New York-based fashion brand named after his wife. Here’s the scoop:

Under the terms of the agreement, Jones owns 50% of the joint venture interest. The remaining interest is owned by the two founders, Rachel Roy and Damon Dash, as well as TSM Capital which acquired a minority stake in the business last November.

Jones said it will assume operations of the existing designer collection business under license with the new joint venture.

Damon Dash helped Jay-Z take Roc-A-Fella Records from the streets to the corporate level and he hopes to do the same with the Rachel Roy fashion brand.

Queen Latifah has become Jenny Craig’s latest celebrity success story after reaching her weight loss goal.

The Hollywood star, who is known for embracing her curves, signed on to be a Jenny Craig spokeswoman in January 2008.

She has lost a few pounds and is continuing her mission of encouraging others to lead a healthy lifestyle, stating, “My intention was to lose five to 10 percent of my bodyweight because it makes a difference with health related issues, and I achieved that goal in a couple of months.”

“I’m excited about this weight loss. My jeans are looser, I feel more energetic (and) people dig it. They come up to me and say, `I’m glad you’re talking about the health side of it.’ People get that message, which is important too.” …on the edge of your seat? Keep reading!

PETA Condemns Jessica Simpson For Saying “Real Girls Eat Meat”

Animal activists have condemned Jessica Simpson for her choice of clothing.

The pop star was photographed wearing a T-shirt bearing the words, “Real Girls Eat Meat”.

In response to this message, the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released the following statement:

“Jessica Simpson’s meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice.

“Chicken-of-the-Sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo ‘Wings’ came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food.”

Amy Winehouse To Start A Family?

Amy Winehouse’s father has revealed that his daughter plans to quit drugs for good when she decides to become a mother.

Mitch Winehouse, who recently claimed his train wreck of a daughter was desperate to start a family, told Closer magazine, “When it comes to Amy, I’m hopeful. I think she’ll be fine, and if Blake’s out of prison in a year, they’ll be having a family.

“She’s making progress. She wants kids and knows she can’t be taking drugs, or the baby would be addicted - she wouldn’t do that.”

The troubled star was taken to hospital yesterday after fainting at her London home. She is expected to be discharged today.

Swizz Beatz Addresses Rumors Of Affair With Alicia Keys

Super-producer Swizz Beatz recently sat down with MTV News to address rumors that he’s divorcing his wife, Mashonda, to be with Grammy Award-winning singer Alicia Keys.

“Everybody can have their fun right now talking that dumb shit about my divorce and all that. I’mma give them something to talk about. People get divorced every fuckin’ day. They need to worry about more serious things.”

The big rumor in the tabloids is that Swizz and his wife broke up over the proverbial “other woman.” What made the story so sensational was that the alleged mistress in this case was Grammy winner Alicia Keys. Swizz dismissed it.

“It ain’t even bad. My divorce, it ain’t nothing bad. It’s just us moving on. Me and Shonda are super good. It is what it is. [The press] are nine months late on the situation. It’s a headache to me. We been separated nine or 10 months already. I’m not hiding anything,” he added. “I can see if I was hiding something. I’m a grown man. Nobody is living no perfect life. Mashonda has a single coming out that I funded, photo shoots that I funded. We made our statement that we’re still working together. They didn’t wanna believe it. I said I would be continuing to support her career. Nobody wants to look at that shit. They wanna look at ‘Alicia Keys.’ That shit is ignorant.”

Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has admitted to waxing his privates.

The 38-year-old insists that it is important for men to look after their bodies if they want to impress their female lovers.

Speaking about his grooming regime, Diddy told the Daily Mail, “While I’m getting ready I like to relax with a drink - vodka and lemonade - and listen to some James Brown.

“Then I’ll have a manicure and pedicure - and yes, I wax as well. Men owe it to women to make sure they are well-groomed.”

He added, “I wax my privates. I also wear my fragrance, Unforgivable Black.”

Bow Wow Responds To Loose-Lipped Video Vixens

Rap superstar Bow Wow has issued a video response to two video vixens that made fun of his womanizing ways and stature on Sirius Satellite radio’s Lip Service show.

Dollicia Bryan and Rita G claimed Bow Wow hit on them while he was still dating then-girlfriend Ciara during a recent radio chat, in which they dissed the rapper’s height.

But in a new video posted on YouTube, Bow Wow hits back at the girls and claims Dollicia was with him “just two days ago.”

He then attacks music video model Rita G, who sells her used thongs on the internet, stating, “I never even met that broad in my whole life. Nobody knows you… I don’t even know you.”

And the “Let Me Hold You” hitmaker warns the video vixens that they should stop “dissing” him, because he is a chess master.

Bow Wow adds, “You ain’t gonna win this game, you can’t play chess with Bobby Fischer, baby.”

However, the rapper insists he isn’t bitter and suggests the ladies may choose to make up for their remarks with sexual favors.

“Green Light” featuring rapper Andre 3000 of OutKast is set to be the lead single off R&B/Soul singer John Legend’s third untitled studio album, which is scheduled to be released in September 2008.

Andre Three Stacks recently sat down with MTV News and spoke highly of this interesting collaboration.

“It’s going to be a surprise for a lot of John Legend fans, because it is a lot more upbeat than John is — than people think John is,” Andre insisted. “I was actually happy to hear it. This is a cool John Legend song.”

Amy Winehouse Hospitalized After Fainting At Home

British trainwreck Amy Winehouse has been hospitalized after fainting at her London home.

A spokesman for the 24-year-old star says, “Amy was at home this afternoon when she briefly fainted.

“Fortunately, her manager’s assistant was there to stop her falling.

“She quickly recovered and her father Mitch took her to hospital as a precaution. Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests.”

The spokesman also says the Back to Black hitmaker is expected to remain in the hospital overnight. Kids, let this be a lesson to you. Drug abuse isn’t pretty.

Young Buck: “Fuck G-Unit!”

During a performance in Tampa, Young Buck launched a scathing attack on his former G-Unit family. Here’s the scoop:

After a fan shouted to Young Buck “G-Unit nigga!” Young Buck snarled right back saying “Fuck G-Unit!” Buck continued to speak with the crowd and clarified his position on the royalty comments that started the whole incident.

“When I said that I hadn’t received a royalty check, I wasn’t saying that 50 Cent took money from me. I said it because it is real!” Buck explained to the crowd. “All that you see on me is street money and show money.”

Young Buck has been adamant that all the money G-Unit has reportedly made has yet to hit the pockets of the Cashville emcee.

“Niggas are saying they have all this money – hundreds of millions - and I ain’t seen shit!”

After stirring the crowd up, Buck then went to explain that he will be alright without 50 Cent and made sure the crowd understood the differences between a 50 and a Buck.

“The difference between me and 50 Cent is that I can hit the gutter and get back in the streets. There’s a thousand dope boys that would give me every piece of work that they got. I can get right back out here with my people and get mine. I doubt 50 can go back and do the same.”
