Busta Rhymes has escaped prison after cutting a deal with prosecutors in New York earlier today.
The rap star agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor assault charges and was sentenced to 10 days community service and three years probation.
The charges stem from two separate incidents in 2006 after the rapper was accused of assaulting a fan and a former employee.
He was also fined $750 and ordered to enroll in a drunk-driving program relating to a DUI charge for an arrest on May 3, 2007.
And in relation to another separate charge of driving with a suspended license, Busta will go without his driver’s license for six months.
If Busta violates the terms of his probation, he could spend up to one year in jail.
