50 Cent Refuses to Retire

50 Cent has defended his decision not to retire from the rap game after he lost to Kanye West in the U.S. chart battle, insisting it is “impossible” for rappers to quit.
The In Da Club hitmaker promised he would step down as an MC if Kanye’s Graduation topped his Curtis album on the Billboard charts — which it did in September ‘07.
But 50, real name Curtis Jackson, has reneged on his promise to retire, and instead has vowed to continue battling for chart dominance.
He says, “I don’t know if it’s possible for a rapper to retire, rappers are like fighters. They condition themselves to be the best. All rappers think they are the best. And they are just waiting for everyone else to recognize they are the best. You’ll see them come back and come back.”
Is it me, or is 50 starting to sound a lot like Jay-Z?

C’mon let’s be serious here! To compare 5-0 refusing to retire after putting his foot in his mouth to Jay-Z coming out of retirement is ridiculous at best!!! Jay’s retiring and reentering the arena was like Mike Jordan coming back on the court. The game missed Jay-Z & he missed the game so he threw “Kingdom Come” at us! Now if 50 would’ve kept his word & actually come back out could he create anything similar to? NO!!! Thats the difference between a “cookie cut” rapper & an artist! That’s why he lost the “sales battle” to Kanye! Artistry will always be more compelling than someone how concentrates on lifting weights to sell more records than his last work! Kanye will be involved in music when he has a pop belly! Will 50!?!? Think about it! Compare how much “In da club” flashes you back to when the single was hot & think about how “All Falls Down” STILL gets in your system when you hear it now!!!!! Nuff said!!!! The comparison is obsurd!
