America’s Next Top Model alum Toccara Jones models “Champagne Furs” in the July 2008 issue of Italian Vogue magazine.
For this month’s issue of Italian Vogue, acclaimed fashion photographer Steven Meisel aims to address the racial makeup of the fashion industry and shoots all-black models.
In addition to the fabulous Toccara Jones, familiar faces such as Tyra Banks, Iman, Alek Wek and Noami Campbell are featured in this historic magazine.
Mr. Meisel chose to cast Toccara Jones, a black full-figured model, to make a statement against discrimination.
“I thought, it’s ridiculous, this discrimination,” Meisel told the New York Times. “It’s so crazy to live in such a narrow, narrow place. Age, weight, sexuality, race - every kind of prejudice.”
“I wanted to say something about weight, and I’m never allowed to do that.”
