Britney Spears was caught on camera stealing a cigarette lighter from a gas station, but a photographer went back to bail her out.
The troubled pop star had stopped at Chevron in Sherman Oaks, California, on Friday, when she snatched a $1.39 lighter on her way out of the store.
When made aware of her mistake by one of the paparazzi, Britney sarcastically replied, “I stole something. Oh, I’m bad!”
And, according to US Weekly, a photographer returned to the gas station Saturday and paid for it.
“[The manager] didn’t want me to pay for it at first,” says the photographer, Shane Partridge. “I told him it was no bother. I just felt like I should, you know?”
