New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will undergo season-ending knee surgery after being hit by Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard in the first quarter of a 17-10 victory.
Coach Bill Belichick has confirmed that the 2007 NFL MVP suffered a tear in his ACL in Sunday’s season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
He said, “We feel badly for Tom about the injury. You hate to see anyone go down. No one has worked harder or done more for this team than Tom has.”
“As a team we all just have to do our jobs,” Belichick continued. “That really doesn’t change.”
New England backup quarterback Matt Cassel, who led the Patriots to its 20th straight regular-season win after Brady was hurt, will start Sunday at the New York Jets. However, Cassel could have some competition. Newly-retired quarterback Daunte Culpepper, who flourished in Minnesota alongside Tom Brady’s favorite wide-receiver Randy Moss, would be a perfect replacement.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her footballer boyfriend Tom Brady were spotted at the exclusive Setai hotel in Miami Beach earlier today.
Tom’s New England Patriots beat the Miami Dolphins 49-28 over the weekend, thus maintaining their perfect 7-0 record. The happy couple celebrated by knocking back a few shots of few shots of Fiji water.
