T.I. Expected To Testify At Friends Murder Trial
November 19th, 2008 | Posted in Celebrity News

T.I. is expected to testify at the murder trial of his assistant and childhood friend Philant Johnson.
According to Cincinnati’s Local 12 WKRC-TV, 35-year-old Hosea Thomas is accused of killing Johnson in May of 2006. The incident allegedly began with a fight at the VIP area of an afterparty the rapper was attending following a performance at Bogart’s nightclub in Cincinnati, Ohio. After the fight spilled onto the streets, prosecutors say Thomas and his brother, Padron Thomas, opened fire on the vans in which T.I. and his entourage were riding.
Padron Thomas has admitted to driving the alleged getaway vehicle and told authorities that his brother Hosea fired shots at the vans, one of which was described as a “horror scene,” with blood and brain matter dripping from the ceiling. “It’s all going to come down to witness testimony,” assistant prosecutor Heather Gosselin told jurors.
The gun battle resulted in four of the star’s crew members being injured and the death of Johnson, who was shot in the head in the incident. The trial is expected to last into next week, and T.I. is slated to testify at some point in the proceedings.

Convicted Felon T.I. Deemed Eligible To Vote
October 30th, 2008 | Posted in Politics

Convicted felon T.I. has been deemed eligible to exercise his right to vote in the upcoming U.S. election, after learning that under Georgia law felons are eligible to vote if they’re not currently serving probation or a prison sentence.
The rapper, who pleaded guilty to weapons charges last year, originally thought his voting privileges were revoked as a convicted felon, until he researched and found a loophole in the Georgia law book.
“Until he is sentenced in the federal case, he doesn’t have a conviction yet,” said lawyer, Steve Sadow of his 28-year-old client, whose real name is Clifford Harris. “Even though he is a convicted felon, he has a right to vote since he is not serving probation and hasn’t started his prison sentence.”
The “Live Your Life” hitmaker immediately took advantage of the rule on October 29th, 2008 when he rushed out Wednesday morning to a polling station in Atlanta to cast his ballot for the next President of the United States.
“It’s a relief,” the rap superstar told the press before registering his first ever vote. “This what it is all about, not staying up late and waking up early to vote. Now rather than just talking about it, I’m being about it. I’m leading by example, and it makes me feel a lot better.”
After standing in line for less than 10 minutes, T.I. walked out of the polling station with an “I’m a Georgia Voter” sticker planted on his black leather vest. He signed autographs and took photos with several fans who were stunned to see the Grammy Award-winning artist at the polls.

Rapper T.I. Lost His Virginity At Age 11
October 30th, 2008 | Posted in Television
Rap superstar T.I. has revealed that he lost his virginity when he was only 11 years old.
The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., appeared on “The Tyra Banks Show” to come clean about his personal life with the famous supermodel-turned-talk show host. About losing his virginity at such a young age, he sheepishly told Tyra, “I’m embarrassed.” the 28-year-old continued saying, “I’m sorry … If it makes it any better we had two kids together later on.”
He also came clean about his arrest and upcoming years-long jail sentence for pleading guilty to several federal weapon charges. The “Live Your Life” hitmaker said, “The conditions of my life that I had endured had presented a certain sense of paranoia, which made me feel like I needed extra security for myself … My best friend [Philant Johnson] had just gotten killed the year before that … he died right in my arms … he was killed right in front me … I was trying to prevent that from ever happening again.”
The “Rubberband Man” went on to tell Tyra, “It was a tremendous amount of pain and a tremendous amount of blame put on myself … Everyone who leaves Atlanta with me is my responsibility and if they don’t make it back home to their families then I’m responsible, and he didn’t make it back.”
Meanwhile, T.I. is experiencing chart success with his sixth major studio album “Paper Trail” that was released on September 30th, 2008 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart.

T.I. Premieres His ‘Live Your Life’ Music Video Featuring Rihanna
October 28th, 2008 | Posted in Music News

Rap superstar T.I. has released a music video for his smash hit “Live Your Life” featuring R&B beauty Rihanna. The music video was shot earlier this month in Los Angeles with director Anthony Mandler.
“The concept is kind of complicated because it’s so metaphorical. It goes back to the whole T.I. vs. T.I.P. thing. You know how sometimes people think that a record deal will just change their life and be the answer to all of their prayers?” said the rapper, whose sixth major studio album “Paper Trail” is in stores now. “Well, you have Tip in that position representing all the kids in the hood who feel that the answer to get out the hood is a record deal. Or it could be a football or basketball contract or whatever that ticket is for them.”
The story line features another character who’s wearing an expensive suit and driving a luxurious car, but still doesn’t have peace of mind. “That’s the T.I. character—he’s gotten himself into something that he doesn’t want to be in no more and now he’s trying to buy his way back out. The person who he’s trying to buy his way back out from, coincidentally, is the person who the Tip character is coming to see about the record deal,” the rapper added.
The “Whatever You Like” hitmaker likens the plot to a Quentin Tarantino film. He was quoted as saying, “It’s like Pulp Fiction how all the stories cross. It’s being told from the last scene to the first scene and both of the stories kind of intertwine along with Rihanna’s.”

“Rihanna and Kanye hung out together after they performed their songs,” an insider tells Star magazine. “Rihanna was sitting on Kanye’s lap, singing along to the music. Before long, the two were full-on kissing each other.”

T.I. Launches ‘Respect My Vote’ Campaign
July 30th, 2008 | Posted in Politics

Rap superstar T.I. has been stripped of his right to vote, but he encourages everyone who’s eligible to vote to turn out at the polls in November and help elect a new president.
Speaking in Washington D.C. on Monday, the felonious rapper announced a new voter registration campaign with “Respect My Vote” as its slogan.
He said, “I can’t vote. So I said, ‘OK, so if I’m going to have to be minus my own vote then the least I could do was urge the masses’. I can replace my vote with at least a million, two million others.
“This is one of the most significant elections of our lifetime. We must get out there and make our voices heard by voting. It’s negligent to sit around and watch an election pass by and not have an influence whatsoever on the outcome. That ain’t sexy.”
T.I., real name Clifford Harris, will begin a 12 month prison sentence in March 2009, after pleading guilty to federal weapons possession charges.

T.I.: My Future’s Brighter Than My Past
April 11th, 2008 | Posted in Celebrity News

Snitch rapper T.I. recently sat down with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for his first interview since he entered guilty pleas to three federal weapons charges.
The hip-hop star mentioned that he’ll be dropping a brand new single within the next two weeks, among other things. Check out the interview:
Q. Who is T.I. — or Clifford Harris, Jr., now?
A. It’s hard to say because a lot of things are the same and a lot of things have changed. I still have a huge amount of passion for what I do. I still have a huge amount of passion for doing what I can for the community. I still have my foundation — remembering where I came from and principles that have been instilled in me. But at the same time I also have an acknowledgement of things that need to be left behind, let go. And also an acknowledgment that there has to be an about-face. A 180-degree turn, in order for us to continue on the path to success.
