
Oprah Winfrey’s Broadway musical “The Color Purple” will end its 3-year-run in New York on February 24, 2008.
The critically-acclaimed play, based on Alice Walker’s novel and Steven Spielberg’s 1985 movie, has grossed over $103 million after more than 940 performances.
In both touring productions and on Broadway, the show has featured the likes of American Idol 3 winner Fantasia Barrino and former Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams.
The Broadway show currently stars Chaka Khan and BeBe Winans.
