Nas Changes Controversial Album Title

In the face of mounting controversy, rap star Nas has decided to change the name of his next album from “Nigger” to “Nas.” The Queensbridge rapper released following statement:
“It’s important to me that this album gets to the fans. It’s been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that, creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages.
“It’s that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it.”
Reverend Al Sharpton, one of hip-hop’s harshest critics, was pleased to hear that Nas decided against calling his new album “Nigger.” The civil rights activist released the following statement:
“I have a lot of respect for Nas. I liked what he said about Sean Bell. We have a fundamental disagreement on this. He can rap against me. I’ll preach against them. We’re still friends.
“This proves that record companies and distributors realize that the community will not allow companies to profit from denigrating us and polluting the minds of our youth.”

Reverend Al Sharpton has been arrested at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge in a protest of the recent acquittal of three NYPD officers involved in the shooting death of would-be groom Sean Bell.
The civil rights leader was among several people arrested Wednesday at a series of demonstrations calling for a federal investigation into the November 2006 shooting.
He had called for acts of civil disobedience across the city. Two survivors of the shooting and the victim’s fiancée were arrested as they stopped traffic at bridges and tunnels.
They lined up and peacefully put their hands behind their backs as police put plastic handcuffs on them.
