Suge Knight Sues Kanye West Over Stolen Earring

Former Death Row owner Marion “Suge” Knight has filed a lawsuit against rap superstar Kanye West after being shot and robbed at a party.
The fallen rap mogul, who recently filed for bankruptcy, was shot in the leg at an MTV VMA Awards pre-party hosted by Mr. West in 2005 and is suing on the grounds that the rapper was responsible for the shooter being allowed in.
According to the lawsuit filed on October 30th in US Bankruptcy Court in L.A., Suge claims he lost a 15-carat diamond stud earring allegedly worth $135,000 inside the club during the incident and that is the “Stronger” hitmaker’s fault.
Mr. Knight is looking to recoup medical expenses as well as “damages for the loss of use and enjoyment of the earring”. He’s also reportedly worked out a deal with bankruptcy officials that will allow him to keep a percentage of any possible payout from the lawsuit, according to TMZ.com.

Britney Spears: ‘What the Hell Was I Thinking?’

In an upcoming documentary, pop star Britney Spears gets up close and personal about her much-publicized erratic behavior.
“I sit there and I look back,” the troubled singer says in the 90-minute film, tentatively titled For the Record, produced in partnership with MTV. “I’m a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?”
In a video clip from the TV special, the former pop princess talks about her tumultuous past: her divorce from Kevin Federline, forced hospitalizations for psychiatric evaluations, and loss of custody of her two sons. “I’ve been through a lot in the past two or three years, and there’s a lot that people don’t know,” she says.
“Sometimes I think I get kind of lonely because you don’t open the gate up that much, you know I mean?” she adds. “You’re guarded. You have to be that way, so I’m kind of stuck in this place and it’s like: How do you deal? And you just cope, and that’s what I do. I just cope with it, every day.”
The MTV documentary is set to air on November 30th, 2008, two days before the release of her much-anticipated album, “Circus.”

Jordin Sparks Blasts Russell Brand At MTV VMAs

Russell Brand has been blasted for making fun of The Jonas Brothers’ virginity at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The British comic, who hosted last night’s show live from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, was called a “slut” by American Idol winner Jordin Sparks for mocking the boy band’s promise rings.
She said of Brand’s remarks, “It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody, guy or girl, wants to be a slut.”
During his opening monologue, Brand had poked fun at the pop sensations for their no-sex-before-marriage promise and the purity rings they wear.
Brand later apologized for his extremely impure jokes. He said, “I’ve got to say sorry because I said them things about promise rings. That were bad of me, I didn’t mean to take it lightly, or whatever.
“I love the Jonas Brothers, think they’re really good. I don’t want to piss off teenage fans, all right. In fact, quite the opposite. So promise rings, I’m well up for it, well done.”

Britney Spears Wins Three MTV Video Music Awards

Recovering pop star Britney Spears was the toast of Hollywood on Sunday night at the 25th annual MTV Video Music Awards.
The pop princess opened the show, live from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, in a vintage silver Versace mini-dress and announced, “I’m here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday.” She continued, “This is the 25th Video Music Awards – and it starts right now.”
Ms. Spears went on to pick up her first of three VMA “moonmen” awards for her “Piece of Me” music video. A humble Britney Spears called the moment “an honor” and thanked God, her fans, her family and her two “beautiful boys.”
Britney capped off the night by winning the ultimate prize: Video of the Year for “Piece of Me.” She was truly surprised and professed to be “in shock right now.” Ms. Spears again went on to thank her loyal fans, adding, “I just want to dedicate this to all my amazing fans out there for all of your support.”

Britney Spears Nominated For Best Female Music Video At MTV Awards

Pop princess Britney Spears has been nominated for Best Female Video for “Piece of Me” at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
“Piece of Me” will compete in the category against Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body,” Jordin Sparks’ “No Air,” Rihanna’s “Take a Bow” and Katy Perry’s chart-topping hit “I Kissed a Girl.”
Nominees for Best Male Music Video were also announced, and they include Usher’s “Love in This Club,” Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” Chris Brown’s “With You,” Flo Rida’s “Low” and T.I.’s latest hit “No Matter What.”
MTV’s 25th annual Video Music Awards show will be held September 7th in Hollywood at Paramount Pictures Studios, and will be hosted by “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star Russell Brand.
A year after Britney Spears’ disastrous performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, the “Toxic” singer is well on her way to a comeback. However, the big question remains, will she try to redeem herself by performing this time around?

Usher Rages At Media For Taking Aim At His Wife

R&B superstar Usher is raging at the media for taking aim at his wife.
The 29-year old singer wed stylist Tameka Foster last September and the couple welcomed their first son, Usher Raymond V, two months later.
However, the Love in This Club hitmaker has been forced to defend his union on several occasions, admitting the media backlash against his wife has definitely “affected” him.
He says, “Of course a lot of what I read does affect me. There’s been a lot of untrue statements that have come out. One, my wife’s age. Two, her name. She’s not a Foster, she’s a Raymond. I married her.
“Also, the fact that maybe there was some malicious intent on her part with my family or my mother. There’s a lot of transformations that have taken place in my life and unfortunately my wife got a bad beat for it. But I’m very happy.
“She’s not done anything in a negative way other than make me a better man in life. As a father, as a more conscious individual.”
Usher continued his rant on MTV’s Total Request Live on Tuesday, while he was co-hosting the show to promote the release of his highly-anticipated album, “Here I Stand,” which is available in stores now.
He raged, “I love my wife very very much and there has been a little rumor earlier this week about us separating; it ain’t true… As a matter of fact I’m tired of people continuing to talk so much trash about me… I’m a black strong man in America standing up to my people.”

The Hills Are Alive For A Fourth Season

MTV’s The Hills has been picked up for a fourth season, which will begin airing in August.
According to a rep for the network, the new season will run 19 episodes and repeats.
An inside source tells The Derrty Truth, “They just started shooting. The fourth season will be about what they ended up doing this summer. Lauren and Whitney will still be working at People’s Revolution.”
The third season finale of The Hills will air on Monday, May 12th with both pre and post show parties, featuring performances by Usher and Young Jeezy.

Rapper Lil’ Wayne is unfazed by his recent run-ins with the law, insisting he is “only human” and “everybody makes mistakes”.
The 25-year-old has accepted responsibility for his problems, but believes people need to mind their own business.
He tells MTV.com, “Everybody has incidents, everybody’s human. I made a mistake. A big mistake. But things get better. I’ll get better.
“To this day, a lot of rappers the game be coming up to me, like, ‘Yo, man, you need to be… You gotta be…’ Don’t tell me, you don’t know what happened.
I had, like, 15 people on the bus. Who’s to say what’s what? But everybody puts on that black gown and becomes judges, so I’m always guilty.
“If (the police) would have stopped (the bus) that night, and I had everything under control, it wouldn’t have been nothing. I was irresponsible at that time. Fucked up on my part. No ifs, ands, buts about it. I don’t blame nobody but myself. I can’t blame nobody for not taking my charge… This is my bus.”
