Britney Spears Nominated For Best Female Music Video At MTV Awards

Pop princess Britney Spears has been nominated for Best Female Video for “Piece of Me” at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
“Piece of Me” will compete in the category against Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body,” Jordin Sparks’ “No Air,” Rihanna’s “Take a Bow” and Katy Perry’s chart-topping hit “I Kissed a Girl.”
Nominees for Best Male Music Video were also announced, and they include Usher’s “Love in This Club,” Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” Chris Brown’s “With You,” Flo Rida’s “Low” and T.I.’s latest hit “No Matter What.”
MTV’s 25th annual Video Music Awards show will be held September 7th in Hollywood at Paramount Pictures Studios, and will be hosted by “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star Russell Brand.
A year after Britney Spears’ disastrous performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, the “Toxic” singer is well on her way to a comeback. However, the big question remains, will she try to redeem herself by performing this time around?

Usher Rages At Media For Taking Aim At His Wife

R&B superstar Usher is raging at the media for taking aim at his wife.
The 29-year old singer wed stylist Tameka Foster last September and the couple welcomed their first son, Usher Raymond V, two months later.
However, the Love in This Club hitmaker has been forced to defend his union on several occasions, admitting the media backlash against his wife has definitely “affected” him.
He says, “Of course a lot of what I read does affect me. There’s been a lot of untrue statements that have come out. One, my wife’s age. Two, her name. She’s not a Foster, she’s a Raymond. I married her.
“Also, the fact that maybe there was some malicious intent on her part with my family or my mother. There’s a lot of transformations that have taken place in my life and unfortunately my wife got a bad beat for it. But I’m very happy.
“She’s not done anything in a negative way other than make me a better man in life. As a father, as a more conscious individual.”
Usher continued his rant on MTV’s Total Request Live on Tuesday, while he was co-hosting the show to promote the release of his highly-anticipated album, “Here I Stand,” which is available in stores now.
He raged, “I love my wife very very much and there has been a little rumor earlier this week about us separating; it ain’t true… As a matter of fact I’m tired of people continuing to talk so much trash about me… I’m a black strong man in America standing up to my people.”

The Hills Are Alive For A Fourth Season

MTV’s The Hills has been picked up for a fourth season, which will begin airing in August.
According to a rep for the network, the new season will run 19 episodes and repeats.
An inside source tells The Derrty Truth, “They just started shooting. The fourth season will be about what they ended up doing this summer. Lauren and Whitney will still be working at People’s Revolution.”
The third season finale of The Hills will air on Monday, May 12th with both pre and post show parties, featuring performances by Usher and Young Jeezy.

Rapper Lil’ Wayne is unfazed by his recent run-ins with the law, insisting he is “only human” and “everybody makes mistakes”.
The 25-year-old has accepted responsibility for his problems, but believes people need to mind their own business.
He tells MTV.com, “Everybody has incidents, everybody’s human. I made a mistake. A big mistake. But things get better. I’ll get better.
“To this day, a lot of rappers the game be coming up to me, like, ‘Yo, man, you need to be… You gotta be…’ Don’t tell me, you don’t know what happened.
I had, like, 15 people on the bus. Who’s to say what’s what? But everybody puts on that black gown and becomes judges, so I’m always guilty.
“If (the police) would have stopped (the bus) that night, and I had everything under control, it wouldn’t have been nothing. I was irresponsible at that time. Fucked up on my part. No ifs, ands, buts about it. I don’t blame nobody but myself. I can’t blame nobody for not taking my charge… This is my bus.”

A source tells Us Weekly, “The show is going to be about her searching for a new best friend.”
Apparently, The Hottie and the Nottie star has grown tired of hanging out with former BFF Nicole Richie.
An insider says, “Paris is tired of the haters and she’s looking for someone new. She’s looking for someone new and cool who she can trust.”
The as-of-yet-untitled show is expected to be picked up by either MTV or VH1.

Jamie Foxx To Host Charm School For I Love New York Rejects!

VH1 has plans to bring back “Charm School” for a second season, but there’s a twist!
Charm School 2: From Gs to Gents will feature 15 of the most unfit, rowdy, and crazy contestants from the first 2 seasons of I Love New York.
The host of this season is said to be Academy Award winning actor, Jamie Foxx. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
Jamie will attempt to turn theses wild “New York” rejects into positive strong men over the span of 11 episodes.
You can expect to see Mr. Boston, Chance, Heat, Buddah, Wolf, Midget Mac, Tango, Trendz, Mr. Wise and the other contestants battling it out for a grand prize of $50,000.
Charm School 2: From Gs to Gents (The NY Boys) is set to begin airing on VH1 and MTV in June 2008.

Soulja Boy Tell’em recently sat down with MTV News to discuss his current status in the music business.
The young southern rapper believes he’s the hottest MC in the game and a no-brainer for the number one spot on MTV’s top ten list.
He says, “I think if y’all did it right now, yeah, I deserve to be on there. But back there, when y’all did it, I probably didn’t have the status that I have right now.
“I’m Grammy-nominated. If I look at the new list and I compare myself to all 10 of the artists and some don’t add up, I’ll be like, ‘Wow. I should be #1 if it’s right now. I’m #1.”
Soulja Boy insists Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne ain’t got nothing on him.
He adds, “Right now, yes [I'm hotter than them]. Today, January — whatever the date this is — 2008, yes [I am the hottest].”

MTV’s Run’s House has a new addition!!!
Reverend Run and his wife Justine Simmons adopted an American-born baby girl in September, who they named Miley Justine Simmons.
Miley was one month old when the adoption was finalized and will make her debut on the family’s reality show in January.
