Nas graced the red carpet at Sunday’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles to promote his upcoming album, Nigger.
The Hip-Hop Is Dead lyricist wore a black t-shirt with the word “Nigger” screen printed on the front. His wife Kelis also made a similar fashion choice.
He explained the importance of their attire by saying, “It’s all the experiences we go through every day, of all ethnicities, Black, White, indifferent.
“We’ve all at some point felt discriminated on, whether it’s in Dominican Republic, whether it’s in China, whether it’s in Iraq with soldiers getting their heads blown off for reasons we don’t know why. The meaning of the word is supposed to be ignorant.
“So no longer are Black people still niggers, it’s also me and you. I want people to think about what I’m thinking about today.”

Celebs Attend The Hollywood Premiere Of First Sunday

Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan were pictured arriving for the premiere of their latest movie, “First Sunday,” at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood on Thursday.
Elise Neal, Malinda Williams, Regina Hall, Dania Ramirez, Lil JJ, Chamillionaire, Kelis were among the celebrities who graced the red carpet.

Jive Records Drops Kelis

According to EW, Kelis has been dropped from Jive Records because her 2006 album “Kelis Was Here” failed to match up the “Milkshake” success of her 2003 LP “Tasty”.
Although “Kelis Was Here” featured several high-profile collaborations, including a duet with her husband Nas, it only sold around 150,000 copies in the US — making it her least successful album to date.
Kelis’ Manager Jeff Rabhan claims Jive Records didn’t “get” the singer’s music and failed to support her.
Rabhan said: “It was a case of being in the ever-shrinking world of the record industry and finding herself on a label she wasn’t signed to and without a champion. She’s a different kind of artist — very image and style-driven. It’s either something you get or you don’t.” He went on to say, “We’re not opposed to another major label deal, but it would have to be non-traditional.”
Kelis is a dope ARTist and The.DERRTY Truth is sure she’ll find a new recording home soon!
