Rap superstar Kanye West has revealed that he will be releasing a pair of signature Louis Vuitton sneakers this upcoming summer.

The rapper, who wants to become a fashion intern, was spotted leaving a Louis Vuitton store by TMZ cameras. “I was just showing them my new Louis,” he explained. “I can’t show you too much of that, though. These aren’t coming out until June.”

Mr. West also revealed that he will be focusing on “clothes” in 2009, including a rumored shoe coming out through Nike called the “Air Yeezy”. He will also be releasing pieces from his highly-anticipated Pastelle line of clothing. Not to mention the Kanye x Louis Vuitton kicks that will be released in an all-white colorway this June.

Kanye West reportedly wants to put his music career on hold to study fashion design in Europe.

The rapper, who is currently designing a new line of fashions called Pastelle, will move to London to accept an apprenticeship at a prominent design house.

A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “He’s applying at Louis Vuitton, Raf Simmons and others. Everyone is surprised at just how seriously Kanye is taking his fashion dream. He is always in the front rows during the Paris and Milan fashion weeks. He absolutely loves London and wants to absorb the fashion over here.”

In a previous interview with the publication, Mr. West said, “I’m going to go and take an internship and just do something that’s like completely normal and just rap on the weekends or something.”

Hip-Hop superstar Lil Wayne has earned an impressive eight Grammy Award Nominations, including Best Rap Album for Tha Carter III.

Rock band Coldplay is close behind with seven nominations, and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West each garnered six nods.

The 51st Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS this coming February 8 from the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles next door to the Nokia Theater.

Fallen music mogul Damon Dash has reportedly been spreading rumors about his estranged business partner, Jay-Z.

According to the New York Daily News, the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records claims Jay-Z set off a feud with Kanye West by refusing to “knight” him with a shiny chain at a 2003 Chicago concert.

“This nigga [Kanye] was like, ‘Wow. [Jay-Z] ain’t going to give me the chain,’” Dame alleges in December’s Complex magazine. “I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That shit cost $40,000! I told Kanye, ‘Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!’”

Mr. Dash insists that after Jay-Z violated the code of hip-hop chivalry, “Kanye hated Jay-Z.” However, a rep for Kanye has dismissed the allegations as “ridiculous and totally false.”

Dame apparently fabricated the story to promote his latest protégé, rapper Jim Jones. “This is sad,” says one source. “Damon does this every time he’s promoting an artist. He just makes things up.”

Rap superstar Kanye West has called for new laws to be passed against the paparazzi following his recent arrest in Newcastle, England.

The rapper, who was arrested at a Gateshead hotel on Friday following an alleged scuffle with a photographer outside a nightclub, wants tougher legislation put in place to protect celebrities.

“When will there be a law passed that simply enforces that someone has to ask to take a photograph of you? That would seem like common courtesy,” he wrote on his official blog. “Right now the [paparazzi] are above the law and the people they [photograph] are below it. What should be illegal are pictures taken with the intent to sell.”

The “Love Lockdown” hitmaker added that the “thirsty paparazzi” often engages in “by any means necessary” tactics, which are dangerous for everyone involved. “You shouldn’t be able to sell a picture of me without my permission. I am not a celebrity. I’m a normal person that’s just famous. I put my hand up to the camera in self-defense!” he said.

Rap superstar Kanye West has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a photographer as he was leaving the Tup Tup nightclub in Newcastle, England.

The photographer, Terry Blackburn, claims his face was cut and bruised after the rapper shoved the camera in his face and screamed: “Get the fucking camera off!”

“We can confirm that a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident at a Newcastle city center club in the early hours of this morning,” said a Northumbria Police spokeswoman. “He was released without charge and no further action is being taken.”

Earlier in the night, the “Love Lockdown” hitmaker performed a sold-out show at the Metro Radio Arena as part of his “Glow in the Dark” world tour.

Rap superstar Kanye West has dissed pop singer Justin Timberlake, insisting he missed his chance to hit the big time in music. The “Stronger” hitmaker, who has never been one for modesty, believes he is the Michael Jordan of the music industry.

“I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” he says in an interview with the Associated Press. “It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.”

The Grammy award-winning rapper claims Justin Timberlake had an opportunity to be music’s MVP, but hasn’t put out enough material. (Timberlake’s last album was released in 2006, while West dropped a CD last year and is releasing his latest — “808s and Heartbreak” — on November 24.)

He adds, “There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums. And it just came out to be that.”

Former Death Row owner Marion “Suge” Knight has filed a lawsuit against rap superstar Kanye West after being shot and robbed at a party.

The fallen rap mogul, who recently filed for bankruptcy, was shot in the leg at an MTV VMA Awards pre-party hosted by Mr. West in 2005 and is suing on the grounds that the rapper was responsible for the shooter being allowed in.

According to the lawsuit filed on October 30th in US Bankruptcy Court in L.A., Suge claims he lost a 15-carat diamond stud earring allegedly worth $135,000 inside the club during the incident and that is the “Stronger” hitmaker’s fault.

Mr. Knight is looking to recoup medical expenses as well as “damages for the loss of use and enjoyment of the earring”. He’s also reportedly worked out a deal with bankruptcy officials that will allow him to keep a percentage of any possible payout from the lawsuit, according to TMZ.com.

Rap superstar Kanye West has blamed his success for the passing of his mother and the end of his relationship with Alexis Phifer.

The “Love Lockdown” hitmaker took a moment to remember those he had loved and lost while performing at London’s 02 arena on Tuesday night.

In a freestyle rap, Mr. West asked of his fans, “What would you do if this shit happened to you? You lost everything that mattered… Moved to L.A., where everything is fake… and your mum goes and does just that. Tell me what would you do if this happened to you, lost your girl and everything that mattered to you… For fame I paid the biggest cost, for fame I paid the biggest cost.”

Kanye West’s mother Donda West died from complications after a cosmetic surgery procedure in November 2007, and he broke up with fiancée Alexis Phifer in April 2008.

Rap superstar Kanye West reportedly peed all over the floor of his dressing room at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards.

The Stronger hitmaker attended the award show to perform and collect the Ultimate Urban prize at the MTV ceremony on Thursday in Liverpool, England.

But his alleged behavior at a celebrity bash the night before shocked the English indie pop band the Ting Tings, who had to share his dressing room at the party.

“We ask for a lot of unusual things on our backstage rider but that ain’t one of them!” Britain’s The Sun newspaper quoted drummer Jules De Martino as saying at the MTV EMAs.
