Rihanna To Make Acting Debut In “Mama Black Widow”

R&B superstar Rihanna is set to make her film acting debut in “Mama Black Widow”.
The film, based on a 1969 novel by former pimp Iceberg Slim, tells the story of a black household’s migration from the Mississippi fields of the segregated south to the supposedly more open-minded city of Chicago in the 1930s.
The Caribbean singer will play the troubled and tragic sister of Otis Tlison, Carol. She will star alongside Kerry Washington, Mos Def and Brian J. White. The film is scheduled to be shot in the fall of 2008.
Otis Tilson will be played by Brian J. White of “Stomp the Yard” fame. The movie shows Otis struggling to maintain his family in the underworld of Chicago, as he turns to alcoholism, pimping, sexual deviation and racial degradation.
