Barack Obama addressed an exuberant crowd at a historic victory rally in Chicago’s Grant Park celebrating his election as 44th President of the United States on November 4th, 2008.
The president-elect defeated Republican presidential candidate John McCain to become the first African-American chief executive in the 232-year history of the country.
On making such history, Obama opened his speech, saying “If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.”
Obama also assured Americans who do not vote for him that “I may not have won your votes tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help and I will be your president too,” he said.
Among the celebrities spotted in the crowd were actor Brad Pitt, and talk show host Oprah Winfrey who had endorsed Obama at a live event in Des Moines, Iowa earlier this year. …on the edge of your seat? Keep reading!

The Stan hitmaker said America “needs something to change” and described the presidential hopeful as a “breath of fresh air”.
He told the BBC, “I’ll vote for Barack. I can’t get too political because I don’t know enough (about the candidates’ policies).
“I mean, I know we are going into a recession. Pardon the cliché but we need something to change. I think Barack would be a breath of fresh air, to get in there and actually get what’s left of the Bush administration out the door.”

Lindsay Lohan To Trick-Or-Treat As Sarah Palin

Lindsay Lohan has revealed that she plans to dress up as Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin for Halloween.
The Hollywood actress, who is a devout Obama supporter, will demonstrate her contempt for John McCain’s controversial running mate by making fun of her fancy dress costume.
New York’s Daily News reports the star will wear Palin’s trademark glasses, perky red suit and ample cleavage for a “Trick or Treat” party on October 31st. Lindsay Lohan’s girlfriend Samantha Ronson will reportedly dress up as Sarah Palin’s snow-machine-ridin’ husband, Todd.
The pair have previously slammed the Alaska governor on their MySpace blogs for her strict views on gay rights, calling Mrs. Palin a “narrow-minded, media-obsessed homophobe”.

Angelina Jolie Says ‘Barack Obama Would Be Great For My Family’
October 11th, 2008 | Posted in Politics

U.N. Peace Ambassador Angelina Jolie has hinted that she may vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama this fall.
The celebrity humanitarian recently sat down with the German edition of Vanity Fair magazine to talk about everything from politics to her family. Here are some excerpts from their candid conversation:
Angelina Jolie on why she could be voting for Barack Obama:
“Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family but would not be a reason to vote for someone.”Angelina Jolie on why she’s proud of the USA:
“I am very proud of being American, and all my children have got American passports. For me, our family is just what America is - a melting pot, a mixture of many different races and nations. My children should be proud of their Asian and African roots, but that in no way means [is] a lack of respect for the fact that they and their parents are Americans.”Angelina Jolie on her twins Knox and Vivienne:
“It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket… Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion… [Knox and Vivienne] have quite similar, stable rhythms. Every three hours they get hungry, then I have to satisfy them. But that’s OK, the two of them are totally sweet. When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”Angelina Jolie on struggling to find alone time with Brad Pitt:
“Sometimes, at the end of the day, we try to retire to the bathroom to be undisturbed,” she says. “But then [the kids] hear the water running and want to come in and, yet again, we are all together. But that doesn’t disturb us because they are great kids.”Angelina Jolie on how fame has changed motherhood for her:
“I would like to have more freedom, especially to have the chance to be more spontaneous with my kids. Would I like to be able to walk through the streets with my kids? Of course. Would I like to be able to wander around Manhattan and buy them an ice cream like other mothers? Of course. But it is not possible. On the other hand, every morning I wake up with the people who are the most dear to me in the whole world. That’s why I don’t feel isolated from that, which is important to me. It helps, of course, that Brad knows all about it, but he’s experienced it even more than me. We often talk about it and try to make the best of things. But I am very grateful for our life and everything that we have.”

Tatyana Ali Goes Hollyweird In King Magazine
July 29th, 2008 | Posted in Magazines

Actress Tatyana Ali is starring in the July 2008 issue of King Magazine.
Her interview in the prestigious publication speaks about her upcoming movie Hotel California, being black in Hollyweird, her new album and presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
What are your thoughts on black Hollywood?
It’s kind of like the Wild West out there, and not just for black Hollywood. In a traditional sense, things look bad—there are people out of work, shows aren’t going up and a lot of films aren’t being made, because of the fear of actors going on strike. But I think it’s a real fertile time to stake your claim. With things up in the air, it creates new space for people who are trying to break through, business-wise.

Barack Obama: Michelle Is An
June 18th, 2008 | Posted in Celebrity News, Politics

America’s newest political sweethearts: Michelle and Barack Obama grace the cover of the latest issue of Us Weekly, which is available on newsstands now!
In the magazine, Barack praises his wife Michelle as an “extraordinary mother” to their two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 7.
“Nothing is more important to Michelle than being a good mother,” the Democratic presidential nominee says. “She works every day to instill in our girls the same values we were raised with.”
Michelle was raised in a one-bedroom apartment on Chicago’s South Side. Her father, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, was a city pump operator and her mother was a homemaker. Michelle and her older brother slept in the living room. This taught her the importance of family, determination and hard work. She went on to graduate from Princeton and Harvard Law School.
Be sure to check out the latest issue of Us Weekly to read the full cover story on why Barack Obama loves Michelle, her struggle to get pregnant, why she rejected Barack when he first asked her out, and how she took her best friend to see Sex and the City on opening day.

Scarlett Johansson Denies Having Jungle Fever
June 16th, 2008 | Posted in Celebrity Gossip, Politics

Actress Scarlett Johansson has denied that she favors U.S. Senator Barack Obama in the presidential election because of his impeccable good looks.
In an interview earlier this year, the Hollywood star was quoted as saying, “My heart belongs to Barack.”
She also revealed that she has regular email contact with presidential hopeful, saying, “I feel like I’m supporting someone and having a personal dialogue with them, and it’s amazing.”
However, a source told the New York Daily News that the 23-year-old does not have a crush on the Democratic nominee.
The source said, “She is a surrogate [Obama campaigner]. They’re not exchanging love letters. Everyone seems to be forgetting that she’s engaged.”
Apparently, Scarlett Johansson has accepted the marriage proposal of her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, after secretly dating the actor for a year.
