Needless to say, the fight spread to the players and Chiefs pitcher Julio Castillo angrily threw a ball at a Dragons player.

Unfortunately it missed and hit a fan in the stands, who was rushed to the Miami Valley hospital.

The ten-minute melee was broken up by police and umpires ejected 15 players and the team’s managers.

Josh Howard and his smoking buddy
NBA All-Star Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks has admitted to his drug use.

During an interview on the Michael Irvin Show on 103.3 in Dallas, the basketball player was asked flat out if he smoked marijuana.

He replied, “Yeah, but only in the offseason. I don’t let it affect basketball.”

Howard also said that “a lot of people have that problem” and speculated that most of the players in the league “have to have it.”

He added, “What can I say? If you can do it and it’s not affecting your everyday life, why stop? If I’m able to do it, but not while I play basketball, it lets you know I can quit whenever.”

If a NBA player tests positive for marijuana, he is placed in a drug counseling program. A second violation results in a $25,000 fine. Subsequent violations result in incremental five-game suspensions. Howard better get his checkbook ready!

Isiah Thomas Finally Fired As Coach Of New York Knicks

April 19th, 2008 | Posted in Celebrity News, Sports

Isiah Thomas
Isiah Thomas has finally been fired as coach of the New York Knicks. Here’s the scoop:

Thomas was fired Friday after a season of listless and dreadful basketball, a tawdry lawsuit and unending chants from fans demanding his dismissal. This season alone, Thomas was found to have sexually harassed a former team employee, feuded with point guard Stephon Marbury and benched center Eddy Curry - the players Thomas acquired in the two biggest of a number of moves that never panned out. Things went poorly this season from the time training camp opened. The jury came back with its verdict that day, finding that Thomas and MSG sexually harassed former team executive Anucha Browne Sanders and ordering the company to pay $11.6 million in damages. Criticized by Al Sharpton and Rutgers women’s coach C. Vivian Stringer for comments he made in his taped deposition, Thomas seemed downcast during most of training camp - and never had much reason for better spirits when the season began. Chants of “Fire Isiah!” sometimes started minutes after home games, and even Dolan’s strong relationship with Thomas couldn’t convince people the coach would last.

Well, it’s about damn time. Isiah Thomas has been robbing the New York Knicks blind. Thomas, with three years and $18 million remaining on his contract, will remain as an “advisor” to the organization. What a shame!

Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal
The bad blood between Shaquille O’Neal and his wife Shaunie seem to be a thing of the past. As you may remember, Shaq filed for divorce from his wife in 2007, claiming she was “secretive about her assets.”

But now, according the New York Post’s Page Six, the pair has reconciled and may get back together.

Sources saw the couple walking hand-in-hand at the Wildlife World Zoo last weekend, and the two looked awfully cozy while attending Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night charity in Phoenix on April 5th. They have four kids together, so let’s hope everything is copasetic.
