Kanye West has been accused of stealing the lyrics for his song “Good Life.”
A songwriter in Maryland claims the rapper “didn’t obtain a license” to sample his record Volume of Good Life for the track.
He also points out that Kanye West was “only at the age of six or seven years of age” when his song was written.
In the lawsuit filed in Maryland District Court last week, Dayna Staggs (aka D’Mystro) is demanding 85 percent of all world sales of the proceeds from Good Life, although he doesn’t explain how he arrived at that figure.
Representatives for Kanye West were unavailable for comment as of press time.
