Kanye West won awards for Best Live Performance and Hip-Hop Video.
Common won the CD of the Year Award along with T.I. — During his acceptance speech, he said, “I salute my guy T.I., who also won, wherever he is.”
Soulja Boy performed “Crank That”
David Banner gave the Hip Hop State of the Union Address with a Michael Vick jersey in his hands.
